If you have a physical dependency on alcohol, it is medically important not to suddenly stop drinking as this can cause acute alcohol withdrawal, delirium tremens, seizure and death. This programme is designed for individuals who are psychologically stable and not currently experiencing physical dependence requiring medical detox. The service is not a substitute for medical treatment, and we recommend consulting with your GP before beginning any new treatment approach. Through the process of kindling, multiple detox's from alcohol and benzodiazepines can become significantly more difficult and dangerous. Medical attention should be sought at the earliest opportunity and you should attend Accident & Emergency following a medical event. RTT® is not a regulated medical procedure in the UK. We do not provide crisis care or medically managed or monitored detox. If you are in immediate risk or in crisis, please attend A&E, contact your GP or NHS 111.
