Why book a free consultation with Cheshire Sobriety Clinic?

Taking the first step towards support can feel daunting. You may be unsure whether your alcohol or drug use has become a problem, whether private support is right for you, or what kind of help would feel comfortable and realistic.

A free 30-minute consultation gives you the opportunity to speak with us confidentially, ask questions, and explore whether Cheshire Sobriety Clinic may be a suitable fit for your needs.

There is no pressure to book a programme. The consultation is simply a chance to talk things through and understand your options.

Book a free consultation for alcohol, binge drinking or drug-related support in Altrincham, Alderley Edge, Cheshire, or online.

The consultation is designed to help you get clear on where you are now, what you would like to change, and what kind of support may be appropriate.

During the call, we can discuss:

  • your current concerns around alcohol, binge drinking or drug use

  • what has prompted you to seek support now

  • any previous attempts to make changes

  • what you would like life to look and feel like moving forward

  • whether our service appears suitable for your circumstances

  • any questions you have about confidentiality, sessions, fees or next steps

It is also an opportunity for you to get a feel for how we work before making any decisions.

1. You can talk openly, without judgement

Many people delay asking for help because they feel embarrassed, worried about being judged, or unsure how to explain what has been happening. Our consultation is a calm, respectful space where you can speak honestly and at your own pace.

You do not need to have everything worked out before getting in touch.

2. You can understand whether our support is appropriate

Cheshire Sobriety Clinic provides private therapeutic support for people who want to make changes around problematic alcohol or drug use. The consultation helps us understand whether your needs are within the scope of our service. If we believe a different type of support would be more appropriate, such as medical detox, crisis support, GP input or another specialist service, we will say so. This is particularly important if you may be physically dependent on alcohol, benzodiazepines or other substances, as stopping suddenly can be medically risky and may require medical supervision.

3. You can ask questions before committing

Choosing support is a personal decision. You may want to know:

  • what sessions involve

  • whether support is face-to-face or online

  • how confidentiality is handled

  • how the programme is structured

  • whether this approach feels right for you

  • what happens after the consultation

The free consultation gives you space to ask these questions before deciding whether to take things further.

4. You can explore a personalised way forward

Everyone’s circumstances are different. Some people are worried about binge drinking. Others are concerned about cocaine, ketamine or patterns of drug use. Some people are also dealing with stress, trauma, low mood, anxiety, relationship strain or professional pressure.

The consultation helps us understand the context around your alcohol or drug use and discuss what support could look like in your situation.

We will not offer a diagnosis during the consultation, and we cannot promise any particular result. What we can do is help you consider whether our therapeutic approach may be a suitable next step.

5. You can meet the person you may be working with

Feeling safe, respected and understood matters. A consultation gives you the chance to speak with John, ask about his approach, and decide whether you feel comfortable.

For many people, this first conversation helps reduce uncertainty and makes the next step feel more manageable.

Your free consultation lasts around 30 minutes and can usually take place by phone, online, or in person by arrangement.

You can expect:

  • a warm, confidential conversation

  • time to explain what has been happening

  • questions to help us understand your needs and goals

  • information about how Cheshire Sobriety Clinic works

  • honest guidance about whether our service appears suitable

  • no obligation to book further sessions

You are welcome to speak openly, ask direct questions, or simply use the time to understand what support may be available.

We understand that privacy can be especially important when seeking help for alcohol or drug-related concerns.

Your consultation will be handled discreetly and respectfully. We can also discuss how confidentiality works if you decide to proceed with support.

You must not rely on information on Cheshire Sobriety Clinic's website as an alternative to medical advice from your doctor or other professional healthcare provider. If you have any specific questions about any medical matters or if you think you may be suffering from any medical condition, you should consult your GP or other qualified healthcare provider. You should never delay seeking medical advice, disregard medical advice or discontinue medical treatment because of information on this website. Results cannot be guaranteed, moreover, results from individual testimonials are for reference only and your own personal experience may differ to those shown on this site, as outcomes are influenced by many factors outside of Cheshire Sobriety Clinic's control. If you have a physical dependency on alcohol, it is medically important not to suddenly stop drinking as this can cause acute alcohol withdrawal, delirium tremens, seizure and death. This programme is designed for individuals who are psychologically stable and not currently experiencing physical dependence requiring medical detox. The service is not a substitute for medical treatment, and we recommend consulting with your GP before beginning any new treatment approach. Through the process of kindling, multiple detox's from alcohol and benzodiazepines can become significantly more difficult and dangerous. Medical attention should be sought at the earliest opportunity and you should attend Accident & Emergency following a medical event. RTT® is not a regulated medical procedure in the UK. We do not provide crisis care or medically managed or monitored detox. If you are in immediate risk or in crisis, please attend A&E, contact your GP or NHS 111.
